2-Chloro-3-hydrazinylquinoxaline is a nucleophilic compound that is used as an antimicrobial agent. It inhibits bacterial growth by binding to DNA and RNA, thereby preventing transcription and replication. This compound has been shown to have potent antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria, including Enterococcus faecalis and Staphylococcus aureus. 2-Chloro-3-hydrazinylquinoxaline also has anti-inflammatory properties that are mediated by its ability to inhibit pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL1β and TNFα.
