5-Chloro-3-methyl-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carbonitrile is a sulfa drug that has significant antibacterial activity against gram negative bacteria. It is an effective inhibitor of bacterial growth and exhibits a potent antimicrobial effect against gram negative bacteria, including Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. 5CMPPC also exhibits antifungal properties against Candida albicans. The chemical structure of 5CMPPC contains two aromatic rings and one nitrogen atom bonded to the pyrazole ring. This compound has the ability to bind to amines, carrageenan, and other sulfonamides with high affinity. It also has magnetic properties when it is dissolved in water. Mass spectrometry has shown that the molecular weight of 5CMPPC is 256 g/mol. Nitrite was used as a reactant in the synthesis process for
