Description :Ocfentanil is a potent opioid that is used as an analgesic. It has no significant binding to opioid receptors and instead acts as a competitive inhibitor of the peptide hormone, beta-endorphin. Ocfentanil binds to beta-endorphin with high affinity and prevents it from interacting with its receptor. It also inhibits the activation of these receptors by other agonists such as morphine.
