Description :
3,5-Dibromoquinoline is a compound that can be used as an oxidant and a conversional agent. It has been shown to react with metal ions to produce luminescent compounds. 3,5-Dibromoquinoline can undergo photochemical reactions in which it emits light in the visible spectrum. It will also fluoresce under UV irradiation. The microstructure of 3,5-dibromoquinoline is a crystalline solid at room temperature and pressure. Under UV irradiation, the structure changes to an amorphous solid with a different emission spectrum. This change in structure is reversible. 3,5-Dibromoquinoline is responsive to supramolecular stimuli like pH and concentration of other molecules in solution.
