Description :
6-(Boc-amino)-3-pyridazinecarboxylic acid is a boron complexing agent that is used to generate fluorescent and luminescent boron compounds. It is prepared by condensation of 3-aminopyridine with two equivalents of trimethylsilyl difluoride, followed by treatment with boron trifluoride etherate. The product can be purified by recrystallization or column chromatography. This compound has been shown to have a quantum yield of 0.2 and an electroluminescent device made from it emits light at a wavelength of 620 nm when illuminated with an ultraviolet or blue light source.
