- 2',5'-Dichloroacetoacetanilide
2',5'-Dichloroacetoacetanilide is a chemical compound with the molecular formula CHClNO. It is a colorless solid that hydrolyzes readily in moist air, and it has an odor of chloroform. 2',5'-Dichloroacetoacetanilide is soluble in water, ethanol, ether, and acetone; it reacts with strong bases to form salts. It can be activated by chlorine or aliphatic hydrocarbons to form a reactive intermediate that can react with solubilizing groups on cellulose acetate. The compound's hydrochloride salt can be obtained by reacting the dichloroacetoacetanilide with hydrochloric acid.
