2-Isopropylhydroquinone is a reducer that can be used in the synthesis of halogenated compounds. It is also used in the treatment method for patterning, which is a process that creates a high-resolution microstructure on a surface by selectively removing material from the surface. 2-Isopropylhydroquinone has also been shown to have growth factor activity, as well as being able to reduce phenyl groups and polycarboxylic acids. 2-Isopropylhydroquinone can be used in polymer film manufacture, which involves coating an organic or inorganic material with an adhesive polymer film. The primary alcohols can then react with the acid catalyst to form esters and amides. Lipase enzymes are used to catalyze this reaction.br>br>
