Description

2,4,6,8-Tetramethylcyclotetrasiloxane is a cyclic silicone that is used as a transport fluid and an additive in the production of polymers. It has been shown to be effective as an oxidation catalyst due to its hydroxyl group. 2,4,6,8-Tetramethylcyclotetrasiloxane has been shown to enhance the process of cationic polymerization when used as a surfactant. Studies have also shown that this compound can be used for surface methodology experiments due to its good thermal expansion properties. 2,4,6,8-Tetramethylcyclotetrasiloxane has also been shown to be effective in biological studies with fetal bovine tissue and inorganic acid.
