• Description: D-Isolysergic acid amide is a derivative of lysergic acid and an amide. It has been used to treat the carcinoid syndrome, which is characterized by gastrointestinal tumors and bronchial hypersecretion. D-Isolysergic acid amide has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects in mice by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. D-Isolysergic acid amide is prepared for analysis by chromatography on silica gel using a mobile phase of n-hexane:ethyl acetate (2:1) and eluted with ethyl acetate. The preparation can be further purified using preparative high performance liquid chromatography (Hplc).
