Description :
2-Cyanobenzoyl chloride is a cyclic, cationic organic compound that is a thionyl chloride derivative. It can be used as a reagent to convert benzene into 2-cyanobenzaldehyde and 2-cyanobenzoic acid. This product also has the ability to react with hexachloroantimonates to form pentachloride. The reaction of 2-cyanobenzoyl chloride with methylene blue in concentrated sulfuric acid produces a purple solution.
