Ethyl DL-3-Acetoxybutyrate is a type of fatty acid that is used as a structural component in the synthesis of polymers. It is used in the manufacture of products such as paints, adhesives, and printing inks. Ethyl DL-3-Acetoxybutyrate can also be an important component of natural exudates, which are secreted by plants or animals as a response to injury or stress. This product has been shown to have insecticidal properties against Bactrocera larvae. The headspace analysis showed that this compound emits pheromones that attract insects and other arthropods.
