Abeprazan has been shown to bind to the gastric H/K-ATPase (proton-gated ion channels) and inhibit its activity. Abeprazan has also been shown to have an anti-inflammatory effect by inhibiting the activity of two inflammatory proteins, TNF-α and IL-1β, which are generated by immune cells in response to bacterial infection.
