- Ingenol 3-hexadecanoate
Ingenol 3-palmitate is a natural product and a precursor of ingenol. It is found in the leaves of Pimelea vernicosa and Lathyrus ochrus. Ingenol 3-palmitate has been shown to be cytotoxic against promyelocytic leukemia cells HL-60, which may be due to its ability to activate the protein kinase pathway. This compound also induces morphological changes in leukemia cells and has been shown to stimulate phagocytosis by macrophages.
