Description

Nanaomycin A is a natural product that inhibits the growth of cells by inhibiting cell signaling pathways. It is an inhibitor of DNA methyltransferase, which is an enzyme that catalyzes the transfer of methyl groups to DNA. Nanaomycin A has been shown to inhibit fatty acid synthesis in vitro and suppressor genes in vivo. Nanaomycin A also exhibits inhibitory properties on cancer cells and Streptococcus faecalis, which are bacteria that cause infections in humans. The mechanism of action for this compound is unclear, but it may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis or cell signaling pathways.
