- DICHLOROPHENYL AMINO ALCOHOL
- 2-(3,4-Dichlorophenyl)-4-hydroxybutylamine
4-Amino-3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1-butanol is a benzamide that can be prepared by reacting borane with propionic acid. This compound has the ability to rotate light in one direction and is therefore classified as levorotatory. Due to the presence of an asymmetric carbon atom, this compound has two forms, laevorotatory and dextrorotatory. The form that is used will depend on the type of experiment being conducted. 4-Amino-3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1-butanol reacts with nitro groups to produce nitromethane. It also reacts with ammonia or amines to produce aminoalcohols. The formyl group present in this molecule is responsible for its tachykinin activity.
