• Description: PF-06442609 is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits the cyclooxygenase enzymes, COX-1 and COX-2, which are responsible for the production of prostaglandins. The inhibition of COX-1 and COX-2 prevents the formation of proinflammatory prostaglandins and decreases pain and inflammation. PF-06442609 has been shown to be safe in human clinical trials. This drug is orally bioavailable and can cross the blood brain barrier, allowing it to reach its targets in the central nervous system. PF-06442609 does not have an effect on protein homeostasis or γ-secretase activity. It has been shown to inhibit isolated heart function in animal studies at high doses.
