• Description: Peptide from the human immunoglobulin heavy chain variable region 3 (IGHV3). The IGHV region is divided into 6 families and participates in antigen recognition. Mutations of IGHV are associated with better responses to some treatments and prolonged survival of some B-cell neoplasms like chronic lymphocytic leukaemia.Immunoglobulins are membrane-bound or secreted glycoproteins produced by B lymphocytes which help shape the adaptive immune response. The antigen binding site is formed by the variable domain of one heavy chain, and with that of its associated light chain. Therefore each immunoglobulin has two antigen binding sites with remarkable affinity for a particular antigen. The arginine residue at position 19 of this peptide is isotopically labelled with carbon-13 (6) and nitrogen-15 (4), giving this peptide a mass increase of 10 compared to the unlabelled peptide.
