Description :
4,7-Dimethoxy-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-c]pyridine is a chemical compound that has been shown to be transformed by demethylation and hydrolysis. This transformation led to the formation of 1,4-dimethoxy-2-(methylthio)azaindole. The reagent 2,6-dimethoxybenzaldehyde was used to obtain the desired product in high yield and with good selectivity. These transformations were performed using x-ray crystallography on crystals of 4,7-dimethoxy-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-c]pyridine.
