Bone Morphogenetic Protein-2 is a cytokine that is a member of the transforming growth factor-beta superfamily. It is a protein that binds to the cell surface and activates intracellular signaling cascades, leading to bone and cartilage formation. Bone Morphogenetic Protein-2 has been shown to be stable in desiccated solutions, which makes it an excellent candidate for applications in cycles with long storage periods. Bone Morphogenetic Protein-2 also has shown cytotoxic effects on cancer cells.
