Informations sur le produit
- Acetonitrile, [(phenylmethyl)amino]-
- Acetonitrile, 2-benzylamino-
2-(Benzylamino)acetonitrile is a postulated organic compound that has been synthesized in multigram quantities. It has been shown that the synthesis of this compound can be scaled up to a high yield, and it can be functionalised with amide groups. 2-(Benzylamino)acetonitrile was synthesized from azoxybenzene and indazolone. The iminium intermediate was generated by reaction of aniline with sodium carbonate in methanol, followed by treatment with benzylamine. The cyanate was then generated from the nitrile using potassium cyanide in water.
2-(Benzylamino)acetonitrile is used as a reagent for the detection of alkali metal ions (Li+, Na+, K+). This compound reacts with these ions to form a precipitate, which can be detected colorimetrically or spectroscopically.
