Informations sur le produit
4-(4-Bromophenylazo)phenol is a photoactive dye that disrupts the structure of proteins. When 4-(4-Bromophenylazo)phenol is irradiated, it undergoes photoisomerization and changes from an ortho- to a para-structure. The change in conformation disrupts the protein's structure, which results in changes in birefringence, albumin binding, and trypsin activity. This photoactive dye has been shown to be used with serum albumin and thermotropic liquid crystalline phases to measure protein concentration. 4-(4-Bromophenylazo)phenol has been shown to have high absorbance at 410 nm when irradiated with ultraviolet light, making it useful for assays using bovine serum albumin or other high protein samples.
