Description :
Octadecyl p-toluenesulfonate is a non-polar organic compound that is miscible with ether, benzene, and liquid membranes. It has been used in experiments as an α-d-mannopyranoside solubilizer and to determine the acid transport of amino acids. Octadecyl p-toluenesulfonate has also been used to study amino acid transport through a membrane and to measure membrane fluidity. This chemical may be used for chiral separations by liquid chromatography or for liquid-liquid extraction.
