• Description: 2,2-Dimethoxybutane is a supplement that has been shown to have potent antibacterial activity. 2,2-Dimethoxybutane inhibits the growth of triloculare and pubescens. This product also has an inhibitory effect on Trichophyton mentagrophytes and T. rubrum when applied topically. The surface methodology used in these experiments was a culture method using agar plates with fruit extracts or acetate extract as the media for growth. These compounds are fatty acids that are found in plants such as Australian plants (eucalyptus, peppermint). They were extracted from the plant and applied to the agar plate media to inhibit microbial growth.
