2',5'-Dimethoxyacetanilide is a molecule that belongs to the class of organometallic compounds. It is prepared by demethylation of 2,5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde. The carbolines are synthesized from this compound by reaction with ammonium nitrate in presence of halides and intramolecular hydrogen. This compound has been shown to act as a ligand for dopamine receptors.
