The formic acid rubidium salt (FARS) is an analytical method that is used to measure the concentration of formic acid in aqueous solutions. FARS is a synergistic effect between aluminum and ammonium formate, which can inhibit the complex enzyme urease. This technique has been shown to have good accuracy and precision. It has also been shown to be applicable to different matrices, such as calcium and ammonium, but not bowel disease.
