5-Chloro-2-(methylthio)benzothiazole (5-CMBT) is a chemical compound that has been found to be cytotoxic to the leukemic cell line L1210. It is a methylating agent, which can be used for the synthesis of novel drugs and agrochemicals. 5-CMBT has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in animal models.
