(2-Chloro-4,6-dinitrophenyl)amine is a chemical that is used as a wastewater treatment agent. It reacts with ethylene diamine to form chlorinated amines. The reaction solution is then treated with hydrogen chloride to produce chlorinated hydrocarbons. Affinity constants have been determined for the reaction of (2-chloro-4,6-dinitrophenyl)amine with amines and hydrogen chloride. This product also has high resistance to hydroxyl group and hydrogen bonding interactions, which makes it an effective water treatment agent.
