Description :
1-Ethyl-4-methylcyclohexane is a cyclic, conformational, and optical isomer of cyclohexane. It can be hydrogenated to 1-ethyl-4-methylcyclohexene. When cis and trans isomers are mixed, they will exhibit magnetic properties. This compound has been used in the production of synthetic rubber and plasticizers. The cis isomer of this compound can also be used as an intermediate in the synthesis of other compounds such as methylcyclopentane and methylcyclohexane.
