It has been shown to block the glutamate receptors in the brain and reduce dopamine release. 10-[3-[4-(2-Chloro-ethyl)-piperazin-1-yl]-propyl]-2-trifluoromethylphenothiazine has a high affinity for the ryanodine receptor, which is found in the sarcoplasmic reticulum of striatal neurons.
