Informations sur le produit
2-Chloroimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine is an antibiotic that belongs to a group of chemical compounds called nitroimidazoles. It is chemically related to picolinic acid and has been shown to have synergistic effects with hypophosphorous. 2-Chloroimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine inhibits the growth of bacteria by inhibiting protein synthesis at the ribosome level. It binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit and disrupts the binding of aminoacyl tRNA to the mRNA codon on the ribosome. This prevents peptide bond formation and leads to cell death. 2-Chloroimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine has also been shown to inhibit human cell lines in vitro through supramolecular interactions with phospholipids in cellular membranes.
