Description :
2-Bromo-6-(hydroxymethyl)phenol is an inhibitor of the class amide that has been synthesized with a picolinic acid. This compound is synthesized with copper and chloride as reagents. 2-Bromo-6-(hydroxymethyl)phenol is a synthetic compound that belongs to the group of octanoic acid derivatives. It inhibits the enzyme octanoic acid hydrolase, which catalyzes the conversion of octanoic acid to octanol. This compound also inhibits the growth of bacteria by inhibiting protein synthesis, decreasing bacterial levels in culture.
