Description :
1,3-Dimethyl 4-bromobenzene-1,3-dicarboxylate is a molecule that has been shown to have mediated effects on nerve cells. It has been shown to inhibit voltage-gated sodium channels in the sciatic nerve of rats and guinea pigs. This inhibition leads to a reduction in the propagation of signals from the peripheral nerves to the central nervous system. 1,3-Dimethyl 4-bromobenzene-1,3-dicarboxylate has also been shown to block ovary contractions in rats and mice. The mechanisms by which this occurs are not completely understood but may involve an effect on potassium channels or an increase in intracellular calcium levels.
