Oleanolic acid 3-glycosides are a group of compounds that are found in the leaves of oleander plants. They have been shown to have nematicidal activity against the larvae of various species of moths and butterflies, including Trichoplusia ni, Agrotis ipsilon, and Heliothis virescens, as well as against the eggs and pupae of the housefly. These compounds also have insecticidal and larvicidal activities against other pests such as aphids and thrips. The leaves from which these compounds are extracted also contain tannins, flavonoids, ellagic acid, carbohydrates, saponins and sapogenins.
