Description :
5-Cyclopropyl-1-methyl-1H-imidazole-2-carboxamidine HCl is a pyrimidine compound. It is an intermediate in the synthesis of other drugs, such as antihypertensive agents, anticonvulsants, and antipsychotics. 5-Cyclopropyl-1-methyl-1H-imidazole-2-carboxamidine HCl is an inhibitor of nitric oxide synthase (NOS) and has been shown to inhibit the formation of phosphodiester bonds in DNA. The molecule also inhibits the activity of creatine kinase and cellular lipid peroxidation. It has been shown to inhibit skin cancer cells in mice by reducing the production of serotonin, which can stimulate skin cancer cell growth. This drug is used for the treatment of inflammatory diseases, such as hepatitis and arthritis.
