• Description: NVP-BBD130 is an orally administered, small molecule inhibitor of the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) kinase. It was designed to selectively inhibit mTORC1. NVP-BBD130 has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of melanoma tumor growth in mice and also inhibits the activation of phosphoinositide 3-kinase and Akt. This compound has been evaluated in a pharmacokinetic study as well as a mouse model for melanoma with promising results. In addition, NVP-BBD130 was shown to have an acceptable safety profile in healthy volunteers.
