Description :Methyl 2-amino-3-formylbenzoate is a cytotoxic agent that is used in vivo to produce tumors in mice. It is an isomeric cyclohexanone, which has been shown to have potent cytotoxic activity against cancer cells. Methyl 2-amino-3-formylbenzoate has been extracted from the condensations of phenylpyruvic acid and 1-indanone. This compound binds to the surface of cancer cells, which may be due to its carboxamide groups.
