This drug also has a contractile effect on cardiac muscle cells, leading to increased heart rate and blood pressure. 3′,4′-Dichlorobenzamil hydrochloride is used in cancer therapy as it inhibits cell proliferation, induces apoptosis and affects the mitotic machinery. The molecular weight heparin binds to the extracellular domain of this drug and blocks its action by preventing the binding of 3′,4′-Dichlorobenzamil hydrochloride with its cellular receptor.
