This product is an acetoxybutyrate ester that emits light when it reacts with the enzyme horseradish peroxidase (HRP) in the presence of hydrogen peroxide. The emission of light can be detected by a luminometer. This product has been shown to have low reactivity with other compounds and can be used as a chromogenic or fluorogenic substrate for enzymes such as alkaline phosphatase, β-galactosidase, and β-glucuronidase.
