Description :
1-Ethyl-4-isopropylbenzene is a liquid phase hydrogen fluoride extraction solvent that can be used to process samples of various types. This solvent can be used for sample pretreatment, such as removal of carbonates and chlorides. The detection limit for this compound is low, which makes it suitable for measuring the concentration of low concentrations of hydrogen fluoride in water. 1-Ethyl-4-isopropylbenzene reacts with chlorine atoms, forming peroxy compounds and trifluoride ions. It is an acidic compound that reacts with hydrogen chloride to form hydrochloric acid. 1-Ethyl-4-isopropylbenzene is used in the chromatographic analysis of organic compounds and has been found to have a nature similar to that of isopropanol.
