Description

Dibenzo[c,e]oxepin-5(7H)-one is an aromatic compound that belongs to the group of phenylacetic acid derivatives. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and may be useful in the treatment of arthritis and other inflammatory conditions. Dibenzo[c,e]oxepin-5(7H)-one has been found to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis in vitro as well as in vivo. It is also a potent inhibitor of phospholipase A2, which may contribute to its anti-inflammatory effects. Dibenzo[c,e]oxepin-5(7H)-one is insoluble in water and soluble in chloroform or ether. It does not react with sephadex LH-20 but reacts with sephadex LH-20. The physicochemical properties of this substance can be determined by using chromatographic methods such as thin layer chromatography
