Description

Dichloro(methyl)propylsilane is a silicon compound that has been used as an organic solvent, an ejecting agent, and a cross-linking agent. It is a liquid with a boiling point of -12°C. Dichloro(methyl)propylsilane reacts with ethyl chloride to form dichloromethylsilane, which is then reacted with hydrochloric acid to form dichloropropylsilane. This product can be used for coatings or as an additive in the production of polyurethanes. The chemical structure of this product consists of two silicon atoms linked by two carbon atoms and one hydrogen atom. The hydroxyl group (-OH) on each silicon atom reacts with the chloride ion (-Cl), forming an anion radical (-OOC-).
