Description :
5-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-5-oxovaleric acid is a carboxylic acid derived from valeric acid. It is used in the preparation of films for biomedical devices. The film is assembled by self-assembly of polymers into a multilayer or superlattice with alternating layers of monolayers, which are composed of carboxylic acid groups and aliphatic chains. This process mimics the natural process of biomolecular self-assembly and produces a thin film with the same properties as naturally occurring biomaterials.
