Description

5-(Phenylamino)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine-2,4-dione is a reactive compound that has been shown to inhibit the replication of viruses. It binds to the viral envelope and neutralizes it. This compound also has pharmacokinetic properties and can be used to treat hepatitis in humans. 5-(Phenylamino)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine-2,4-dione is a potent inhibitor of chronic arthritis and has been shown to inhibit annexin V binding to its target protein. The virus life cycle is inhibited by this compound due to its ability to bind at an early stage of the virus production process.
