Description

The 2-Chloro-4-nitrophenyl b-D-glucopyranoside is a substrate for the enzyme β-glucosidase. It is used as a culture media for bacteria, as a diagnostic agent to identify the presence of β-glucosidase in urine, and as an analytical reagent for measuring the activity of β-glucosidase. This product is used in chemiluminescence and bioluminescence assays. It has a CAS number of 120221-14-9, and can be conjugated with other molecules to create fluorescent or chromogenic substrates. The 2-Chloro-4-nitrophenyl b-D-glucopyranoside is also used as a fluorogenic substrate for measuring β - glucosidase activity in environmental samples.
