Description :
1-Octylpiperazine is an organic molecule that has been shown to catalyze the oxidation of molecular oxygen. It is a ligand in transition metal complexes and can be used as a catalyst for the catalytic oxidation of lignin. 1-Octylpiperazine has been computationally studied using quantum chemistry and molecular dynamics. The intramolecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bonding interactions are observed in this molecule, which is also important for the catalytic activity. 1-Octylpiperazine can be substituted with a piperazinyl group or with a syringyl group to affect its bonding properties or substituent effects.
