Description :
Deoxyingenol is a diterpene that is found in the bark of the tree, "Dysoxylum erythroxylon". This plant toxin has been shown to be cytotoxic and to inhibit DNA replication. Deoxyingenol has also been shown to inhibit the replication of DNA in human cells and the growth of cancer cells by interfering with cell division. It also inhibits the activity of enzymes involved in protein synthesis and lipid metabolism. Deoxyingenol can be used as a dietary supplement or an irritant for skin conditions.
