Informations sur le produit
Theophylline is a bronchodilator drug that is used to treat asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other lung diseases. It can also be used to prevent apnea in premature infants. The therapeutic effects of theophylline are due to its ability to relax the muscles around the airways and increase the flow of air into the lungs. This medication is metabolized by CYP1A2, CYP3A4, and CYP2E1 in women. Theophylline also affects amino acid transport and protein synthesis in cerebral cortex cells, which may contribute to its therapeutic effects. The therapeutic dose range for this medication is 200-400 mg per day for adults and 2-6 mg per kg per day for children. It can be taken with or without food but should not be taken with milk or dairy products because they contain a protein that inhibits the absorption of the drug.
