Description :
Estriol-d3 is a synthetic estrogen that has been used in biological treatment as an alternative to estradiol. Estriol-d3 has been detected in wastewater samples by using a quadrupole mass spectrometer and this method has been validated. The presence of estrone, estradiol, and other steroidal hormones was confirmed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The use of hexane for extraction may affect the detection of metabolites such as estradiol, because it will extract these compounds from the sample.
