Sanggenol L is a natural product isolated from the leaves of a plant called Sanggenol. It is an agonist of the nuclear factor kappa-light-chain enhancer (NF-κB), which is involved in various cellular processes, including inflammation, cell proliferation and apoptosis. Sanggenol L has been shown to have minimal toxicity in animal models and no significant cytotoxicity in human cells. This compound also has anti-inflammatory and pro-apoptotic effects. It has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in mice with skin cancer by inducing apoptosis. The best dose was determined to be 0.1 mg/kg body weight for a period of 10 days, but it was found that doses up to 10 mg/kg body weight had no effect on tumor growth or survival rates for mice with prostate cancer cells.
