4,5,6,7-Tetrafluoro-1-hydroxy-1,2-benziodoxole-3(1H)-one 1-oxide is a synthetic molecule that inhibits the replication of RNA viruses. It is a potent inhibitor of HIV and HCV infections in cell culture. The drug binds to the 5HT4 receptor and may also modulate toll-like receptors. This drug has been shown to be effective against inflammatory diseases such as psoriasis and Crohn’s disease.
